California state selects HHS Technology Group to provide long-term delivery of digital services of the California Automated Response and Engagement System (CARES-Live). Florida Senator Bordeur (R-Sanford) has filed Senate Bill 80, Child Welfare. This legislation expands the existing laws related to sibling and transition placements for children in out-of-home care. The bill works to recognize and balance relationships young children develop with foster families and to maintain their relationships with their biological family members in order to reduce trauma.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has approved kinship funding to help people who have taken on the role of parents. Though it is only a third of what foster homes receive, it is a start to the support for kinship providers. Only if they become licensed as foster parents they will be eligible to receive the same amount.
