| NAA Standards for Member Agencies |
![]()
In 1982, NAA released its first standards for member agencies sharing guidance on the most optimal and ethical ways to serve children, youth, and families through our core services: adoption outreach, recruitment, family preparation and support. Since that time, and after several iterations of those original standards, NAA's latest version of guidance for the field elevates current best practices in adoption from foster care.
Review our standards to learn about effective child-focused recruitment that engages youth in their own permanency plans, unique parent preparation tactics with a racial equity/intersectional lens, and family finding to increase kin connections and opportunities for shared parenting post-adoption.
Ultimately we want our standards to promote the use of effective tools to help the adoption workforce do their best work on behalf of the children, youth and families we serve. See press release here. Downloads standards here. |
