Ohio Governor's Advisory Council finalizes recommendations for the Ohio foster care system. The Children Services Transformation Advisory Council is made up of a wide range of families, kids and foster care experts from across the state. They have provided a six-page documentation of recommendations.
Rhode Island will receive a federal grant close to $95,000 to help prevent youth homelessness and housing instability. The grant will provide housing and supportive assistance to at-risk former foster children who are aging out of foster care.
US Department of Housing and Urban Developing is providing grants as part of the HUD's Foster Youth Independence Initiative. Texas Panhandle Community Services is one of the organizations receiving funding to assist foster youth in securing housing.
