The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) has released the annual report on Adoptive Foster Care Analysis and Report System (AFCARS). This report contains information on long-term and short-term trends throughout the different states, comparing and contrasting information on a national level.
Foster youth need more intangible support of a caring adult to succeed in college. There is no federal requirement to support college students so states like California, New York and Pennsylvania are providing additional support services to help them succeed in earning a college degree.
HRC's All Children-All Famlies project "Promising practices for serving transgender & non-binary foster and adoptive parents" promotes LGBTQ cultural compentency among child welfare agencies through innovative resources, including an online agency self-assessment tool, comprehensive staff training, free technical assistance and online learning.
