With bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration and management and leadership certifications from George Washington and Georgetown University, Kamilah Bunn brings her business expertise to the National Adoption Association (NAA) – resulting in enhanced valued-added benefits for child welfare professionals and a 450% increase in NAA membership during her 10-year tenure as CEO.

Kamilah has worked within child welfare for more than two decades starting as a direct service recruiter to her current leadership position. She has dedicated her career to increasing permanency outcomes for children who are both disproportionately represented in foster care and wait the longest for permanency. Kamilah leads NAA’s work, and its 14-million-dollar business operations, to transform systems across the country. Her goal is to partner with system leaders and NAA members to address the root causes of barriers to family and cultural connections, including mental illness, accessible therapeutic services, income inequality and child welfare need awareness.

Kamilah serves on several national Boards, speakers bureaus and advisory councils. She is a National spokesperson for AdoptUSKids, a member of the Criminal Justice Reform Network hosted by the Aspen Institute and commenced by the Walmart Foundation, a founding Board member of Voice for Adoption and a member of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption National Advisory Group.
