Connecticut foundation, the Annie E. Courtney Foundation received a $75,000 federal grant to buy a multi-family home. The New Beginnings Project will rent the home exclusively to young adults with Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) vouchers issued through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

In McLean County, Illinois, is exploring the possibility of a Family Treatment Court to assist families with multiple issues by bringing together a range of social service agencies into one courtroom. Partners for the new court could include public health, mental health and substance agencies, DCFS and other child welfare advocates.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), AdoptUSKids, and the Ad Council released new public service announcements (PSAs) to encourage prospective parents to adopt teens from foster care.
