Florida nonprofit in Valrico, Forgotten Angels assists youth aging out of foster care. Founder Cindy Tiller has
personal experience with aging out. She purchased a 12-acre property to assist youth in finishing high school, getting into college, and finding employment. They are even inspiring others to build and assist more youth.
New York Program V-CRED is a new program being offered by local nonprofits and the city to assist young people in foster care launch their careers. This program is funded by the city and the Kellog Foundation and helps youth find jobs in IT, allied health, building trades
as electrician helpers or pharmacy technicians.
South Carolina proposed Senate bill is focusing on extending assistance for youth in foster care. House Bill 2509 is requesting to change and require further assistance for those youth who stay in the system until 21 by providing more assistance on basic responsibilities like preparing for job interviews, grocery shopping and managing money.
