Iowa Four Oaks TotalChild Workforce program is connecting youth to businesses to train and develop motivated young workers. This program guides teenagers and young adults through high school graduation, post-secondary education and into the workplace by providing mentors and job opportunities.
Minnesota nonprofit, Connections to Independence discusses the challenges the pandemic has had on young people in the foster care system or those aging out. Many who planned on going to post-secondary programs are dropping out and many are just trying to survive.
North Carolina Gov. Cooper has signed the Foster Parents Bill of Rights into law. House Bill 769 should provide more access to information and a clearer role in the process.
