Colorado legislature cleared a $2.9 million bill called Improving Educational Stability for Foster Youth, H.B. 18-1306, in April. If signed, Colorado will be the first state that ensures children in foster care will have a ride to school.

Missouri House of Representatives committees are debating legislation SB 672 the Supporting and Strengthening Families Act that allows parents who are struggling to care for their children to transfer custody to a private child services organization for a year.

New York YVLifeSet program is being launched next year. This pilot program which already operates in 10 other states helps foster youth to adjust to aging out of the foster care system without any family support.
