The Center for Advanced Practice at Adoption Rhode Island is offering a Level On Theraplay Training for licensed Mental Health Professionals (LICSA, LMHC, LMFT, P.h.D.). Theraplay is a child and family modality of play therapy for building and enhancing attachment, self-esteem, trust in others, and joyful engagement. At any age, children who are withdrawn, passive, or depressed, children who are overactive or aggressive, children on the autism spectrum, and those who are afraid of relating or attaching because of adoption, losses or trauma can be helped by Theraplay. This four-day training, instructed by The Theraplay Institute, is designed to teach participants the fundamentals of the Theraplay model and how to begin using Theraplay-informed practice with clients.

Full completion is approved for 25 hours of CEUs. (Theraplay certification is limited to those with a Masters or Doctoral degree and a clinical license.)
